Valentino Nortey appeared to be wearing a jail uniform in the picture, which was posted by the US news portal wgal.com.

The picture was most likely taken while US security officials were processing the accused for incarceration.

The 2024 NPP parliamentary candidate wore a sober, impartial countenance, a long beard with considerable greying, and a shaven head.

He was wearing a light-coloured top against a plain background, and he was straight-facing the camera.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, after a domestic disturbance along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the former parliamentary candidate is charged with stabbing his wife, Gilda Nortey.

He is accused of tampering with or falsifying physical evidence, possessing an instrument of crime with intent to use, and attempting homicide. The court denied him bail, and he is currently being held at the Dauphin County Prison.

The victim’s family claims that Gilda Nortey, a nurse in the United States, was stabbed three times by her husband. According to the family, she was able to get medical care by driving herself to the hospital where she works.
