When the Grace Mountain Church held its yearly crossover convocation, the Accra Sports Stadium was transformed into a scene of fervent prayer and rejoicing.

The stadium was packed with “Alpharians” anxious to welcome in 2026 at the event, which was organised by the well-known non-denominational prayer movement Alpha Hour.
The evening was filled with intense spiritual activities led by Pastor Elvis Agyemang, but many people found the unusual “financial miracles” to be the high point.
The mood changed from prayers to testimony as the crowd looked for spiritual breakthroughs and a change in luck for the coming year.
During the service, a large number of visitors hurried to the altar to claim receiving mysterious Mobile Money (Momo) deposits straight into their digital wallets.
Congregants used their cell phones as proof, displaying SMS notifications of financial inflows they said were the result of divine intervention.
Many claimed the money materialised instantaneously as they prayed for financial release, making these “Momo miracles” the main focus of the evening.
The size of the event demonstrated the Alpha Hour movement’s enormous impact.
Hours before the ceremony began, thousands of believers from all over the nation—and beyond—started packing the stands in hopes of a “positive change in circumstances” for the upcoming year.
One member of the congregation said, “I came here expecting a touch from God, but to see an alert on my phone while the pastor was praying is something I cannot explain,” during the witness session.
Even though the financial testimonials received a lot of applause, the crossing transition continued to be the main focus of the evening.
Hours of intense intercession, centred on themes of protection, favour, and spiritual development for 2026, were led by Pastor Elvis Agyemang.
For a movement that continues to fuse traditional faith with the digital world, the stadium erupted in a cry of appreciation as the clock struck midnight, marking the beginning of a new year.
