Police investigations have now uncovered his true identity, professional history, academic credentials, and the precise allegations brought against him, according to a GhanaSky.com reporter. Discussions about false prophecies, digital disinformation, and public safety in the social media era have been rekindled by the case.

Why Did Ebo Noah Get Arrested?

Ebo Noah was detained for using social media to spread fear and panic and for making false statements meant to mislead the public, according to the Ghana Police CID.

His apocalyptic prophecy, according to which God had shown a vision of a global deluge akin to the biblical Noah’s flood, did not come to pass on the specified day. In spite of this, Ebo Noah thereafter asserted that God had “extended the time,” which increased his followers’ perplexity and anxiety.

Arrest During a Live TikTok Session

According to police sources, Ebo Noah was taken into custody by the Inspector General of Police’s (IGP) Special Cyber Vetting Team when he was conversing with fans and sharing his prophecy live on TikTok.

In response to mounting public complaints, law enforcement agencies conducted internet monitoring and intelligence collection prior to the arrest.

CID Discloses the True History of Ebo Noah

Chief Superintendent Seth Sewornu, Director of the Special Investigations Unit at CID Headquarters, disclosed previously undisclosed information regarding Ebo Noah’s upbringing, schooling, and work history in a video briefing.

As stated by the CID:

  • Ebo Noah is not an ordained pastor

  • He does not own or lead a church

  • He has no formal theological training

  • He is not mentally unstable, contrary to online speculation

Ebo Noah’s Professional Background and Education

According to police investigations, Evans Eshun (Ebo Noah):

  • Graduated from Accra Technical University (formerly Accra Polytechnic)

  • Holds an HND in Purchasing and Supply

  • Works as a security guard at a private school in Madina, Accra

Chief Superintendent Sewornu underlined that Ebo Noah was not operating under any recognised church authority and did not have a religious institution.

“Content Creation” Defence Rejected by Police

Ebo Noah tried to justify his activities by saying he was just a content creator, according to the CID. Police, however, disregarded this justification, claiming that the scope and gravity of his allegations went beyond amusement.

The CID gave a concerning example of a follower who allegedly travelled from Liberia to Ghana with the intention of joining the ark because they thought the prophecy was true.

Ebo Noah’s Charges

Ebo Noah is being detained for enquiries into the following, according to the Ghana Police:

  • False publication

  • Deceptive communication

  • Causing fear and panic

  • Misuse of digital platforms

Authorities emphasised that intentional disinformation that endangers public safety and peace is not protected by the right to free speech.

The public has been asked by law enforcement officials to use caution and to report any content that incites fear, panic, or deception.

The arrest of Ebo Noah highlights the relationship between religion, social media, and the law and represents a pivotal moment in Ghana’s digital and religious environment. The case serves as a cautionary tale about the repercussions of disseminating false prophetic claims in a time when internet influence may quickly mould behaviour in the real world while investigations are ongoing.
