On January 1, 2026, Chelsea announced that head coach Enzo Maresca had left the team.
The team applauded Maresca for helping the youthful team win trophies while they were still figuring out how to work together and adapt.

When Maresca signed a five-year contract with Chelsea in the summer of 2024, the team had the option to extend it by an additional year.
In 2025, he led Chelsea back into the Champions League after they won the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
