The former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings passed away at age 76 in the early hours of Thursday, October 23, 2025
According to the government, Mrs Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’s state funeral will be held at Independence Square in Accra on Friday, November 28, 2025.
The state funeral honours Mrs Rawlings’ important contributions to the advancement of women’s and children’s rights in Ghana as well as her influence on the country’s development, according to a government statement.

The funeral will be held under President John Dramani’s auspices, according to a statement released on Thursday, November 6, by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications and Spokesperson to the President.
After a brief illness, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, 76, died at the Ridge Hospital in Accra early on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
