Vincent Kompany’s contract with Bayern Munich is extended through 2029.

Belgian Kompany, who was not Bayern’s first choice when he was hired in the summer of 2024, won the German championship for the Bavarians against Bayer Leverkusen in his first season there.

With 11 victories in 11 games this season, the 39-year-old has Bayern afloat and leading both the Bundesliga and Champions League standings.

In a statement, former Manchester City captain Kompany said, “It feels like I have been here a lot longer and that I know the club well.”

“So far, the experience has been fantastic. We have embarked upon an amazing adventure. Let’s keep working hard and celebrate much more success!”
