Following a flurry of social media accusations that he had physically abused his wife, actress Regina Daniels, billionaire businessman and politician Ned Nwoko has spoken out.
The senator from Delta North adamantly denied ever touching Regina in a lengthy statement, claiming that her alleged battle with drug and alcohol abuse is the true cause of their marital problems.
“In addition to Regina Daniels, I have other wives. Have any of them ever told you that I have beaten them? Nwoko said, “Regina is the bad guy here, abusing drugs and causing property damage.”
He voiced concern about what he called a concerning shift in Regina’s behavior, saying that her alleged addiction has resulted in violent outbursts and property damage at their Abuja home.
Regina was not always this way. Our issue stems from her ongoing struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. “I fear for her life and safety, so she needs to continue her rehabilitation program,” he continued.
Nwoko claims that Regina has allegedly refused to cooperate despite his repeated attempts to assist her in obtaining professional treatment in the Asokoro neighborhood of Abuja as well as overseas, including a proposed rehabilitation program in Jordan.
When pictures and videos of broken windows and damaged cars went viral online earlier this week, along with allegations that Nwoko had physically abused Regina during a domestic argument, the controversy broke out.
However, Nwoko denied the allegations and charged Regina with being the one who had attacked.
He claimed that she had now relocated to an area where she would have unfettered access to drugs. None of my other wives have ever accused me of being violent. Regina is the aggressive one here; she has hit and slapped three employees in the last 48 hours and destroyed property without cause.
He added that an incident involving their son Moon was the cause of the recent chaos in their home, claiming that Regina’s alleged refusal to provide medical care for the child caused the situation to worsen.
Chaos erupted at home while I was driving our son to the hospital. Instead of taking Moon to the hospital herself, a sensible Regina would have threatened to kill our resident nurse for disclosing her drug use, according to Nwoko.
Additionally, he claimed that one of Regina’s purported drug suppliers was a woman he only identified as Ann, whom he called “a tiny evil devil.”
Regina Daniels has not yet addressed the accusations in public.
